With his men, he is trying to transport 220 tree trunks linked together by cables from Kisangani to Kinshasa. In this video I travel to the Dominican Republic, part of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, it shares its Western border with Haiti, but the similarities stop there. The Dominican Republic is mostly known by visitors around the world for the resort town of Punta Cana, but I’m on a mission to find the authentic side of the Dominican Republic, so I travel to its capital Santo Domingo, which was the first ever city to be settled by the Spanish, I also visit the local Boca Chica beach, the mountainous region of Jarabacoa full of waterfalls and Villa Mella to eat the famous chicharrón! At the end of my trip I’m shocked that no one knows about the REAL Dominican Republic, the locals are fun and friendly, there’s always merengue and bachata music being played, the local food is delicious. I’m so happy I decided to visit lesser known places in the DR, it gave me a whole other insight into this country, even though it’s the most visited country in the Caribbean by tourists, they mostly all go to Punta Cana, which is such a shame because the country has so much more to offer culturally and geographically!

The War in October' is a landmark, three-part documentary series, marking the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.

The story of the war has never been thoroughly explored. What exactly happened in those three weeks in October 1973? Both Arabs and Israelis still claim to be the victors today.

The films feature men and women who planned and fought in the three-week war that took place on both the Egyptian and Syrian fronts. Egyptians, Israelis, Syrians and other participants in the Iraqi, Jordanian, Algerian, Moroccan and Palestinian militaries are all included. The series also hears from diplomats and defence officials from the U.S., the former Soviet Union and Europe.
