READY WHEN YOU READY
Cho.
Hey, mi ready when you ready fi go chant down
babylon, dutty system, Mi ready you ready fi go lick
down bbylon in a rhythm,
Mi ready when you ready fi go tear down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi go mash down babylon.
Them nah do it like how dem say dem plan,
Dem just a dash it out dey in a foreign land,
A hungry nation is a angry one,
And it is bound to cause a revolution,
Power struggle a bubble it a bubble,
And starvation is on the double,
The ghetto children don't seem to stand a chance
Instead of opportunity it's self reliance.
Cho.
Mi ready when you ready fi go tear down babylon,
dutty system, Mi ready when you ready fi go fling
down babylon in a rhtyhm,
Mi ready when you ready fi go chant down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi go lick down babylon.
The rise in prices is rising everytime,
And unemployment is making people turn to crime,
A bare promises and a bag a tricks,
While we kill each other over politics,
You want unity in a you community,
Tho yu don't belong to high society,
We hear of problems over the media,
About the blackman's struggle in a Africa.
Cho.
So miready when you ready fi chant down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi go tear down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi lick down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi go chant down babylon
Is it because of the book and pencil,
Why ou try to sidestep the treaty,
Is it because of the pen and paper,
Why you keep the chains on me,
Is it because of the book an pencil,
Why you try to avoid the treaty,
Is it because of the pen and paper,
Why you keep the chains on me.
If I had to fight for emancipation,
Then I shall resist for my liberation,
And with truth and right I shall win my liberty,
We shall unite to secure the victory,
Cudjoe and Nanny, their courage and their bravery,
Cuffy and Quashy, delivered their rage from slavery,
Marcus Garvey and His Imperial Majesty,
Luther King and Marley, voices the oppression
of humanity.
Cho.
So mi ready when you ready fi go chant down
babylon, dutty system, Mi ready when you ready fi
go tear down babylon in a rhythm,
Mi ready when you ready fi go lick down babylon,
Mi ready when you ready fi go mash down babylon,
The school graduates turn into loafters,
Educate children turn into beggars,
The underprivillege nah go have no privillege,
Mentally handicaps what a disadvantage.
Cho.

The original setup of Bob Maley & The Wailers performing at The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1973. This live in-studio performance was made for London's Top Gear Radio Show before performing live for BBC Channel 2′s Old Grey Whistle Test. This is one of only 2 or 3 times where Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer are captured on video performing together as The Wailers. We are happy to share with all of you our final Song Around The World of 2019. Bob Marley once said “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain...” Another good thing about music is that it touches our souls and lifts up our spirits. Connecting people is one thing, but connecting souls is a whole other level. Turn it up and enjoy Bunny Wailer, Manu Chao and Bushman singing the Wailer’s classic, “Soul Rebel,” along with musicians from around the world.

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music programs for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

From Bunny's 1989 album, "Liberation"
Lyrics:
If you are living in a market place
and you're no buyer or seller.
You'll find yourself left in space
subject to be bought or sold.
If you are living in a tenant yard
and you are not the land owner.
You'll get a notice from your landlord
to leave sooner or later.
So what you need is liberation.
Everyone need it. Liberation.
The young and old they need liberation.
Lets come together for the liberation.
If you are in bondage. Liberation.
If you are not free you need liberation.
Lets unite for the liberation.
Everyone need it. Liberation.
If you are dwelling on a piece of land
and are not the land owner.
You can be sure that the government man
is gonna label you a squatter.
If you are an alien in a far country
and you are treated as a stranger.
You don't belong to that society
you could a end up in danger.
If you are caught between church and state
and you are feeling the pressure.
You got to get out before it's too late
or you got to work without pleasure.
And if you borrow and you can't pay
don't bother sit there and wonder.
Your revenue and budget could be taken away
and you belly could a end up with hunger.
If you are working on a plantation
and you are not the boss-man.
Don't ever rest from being tired
or you could get fired.
If you don't belong to one party
and you belong to another.
You are subversive to unity
and no man is your brother.
