The January 2022 event »Radical Friends. Online DAO Summit for Decentralisation of Power and Resources in the Artworld« was one of the central Lockdown Lessons activities. Artists, activists, and academics explored the potential of blockchain technologies for art and civil society. New forms of organisation such as Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) enabled by blockchain technologies can play a significant role for artistic and civil society infrastructures. After a short introduction of the DAOWO Global Initiative (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation With Others) by the moderator Sarah Johanna Theurer, curator at the Haus der Kunst and theorist on techno-social theories, and Mario Schruff, programme curator and initiator at the Goethe-Institut London, the participating artist and activist collective eeefff from Minsk will present their performance »Tactical Forgetting«. In it, computer-assisted exercises address digital memory and shared events that are more likely to be forgotten because of their sensitive content or community safety. The artistic intervention/presentation will be followed by a discussion on »Decentralized Strategies for Art and Activism«, which examines the potentials and pitfalls of decentralised digital infrastructures for art and civil society. Speakers Olexii Kuchanskyi – a Kyiv-based researcher, artist and queer writer whose main interests lie in experimental moving image art, its ecological effects, and critical cultures of nature, Radical friends co-curator Penny Rafferty, Mario Schruff, and Dzina Zhuk and Nicolay Spesivtsev (eeefff), reflect on these topics from the perspectives of their own artistic, curatorial, and activist practices

SHOF-ECGI Conference on sustainable finance and corporate governance 2020
The Social Justice Summit is hosted annually by the College of Education & Human Services -- Western Illinois University.
The Summer of 2020 brought much needed national attention to issues of racial justice in the country and globally like never before. In the marches and protests on television, were our students. Student activism has a rich history on college campuses as well, dating back decades, and is responsible for many educational and socio-political advancements. We have seen grassroot organizing from younger generations take new forms of activism. However, most higher education professionals are not prepared to work with student activists. The expectations on staff and faculty of color are higher than of their peers to engage with student activists on campus. What does activism look like on our college campuses today and in the future? What do professionals need to do to prepare themselves to work with student activists? We will explore these questions and develop new possibilities for making our campuses more inclusive and student success driven.

Abstract: Political entrepreneurs are those who create ideas and innovations, and act as new leaders in politics. They are individuals and groups who seek to improve the science and art of politics through disruption, new ways of solving political problems in terms of political philosophy, technology, campaigns, and governance. Frankfurt Fashion SDG Summit
As the fashion industry embarks on its resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential that sustainability is prioritized throughout the entirety of the global supply chain. Now is the time to make peace with nature, abolish social inequalities, and seize the opportunities of digital technology. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 17 urgent calls to action adopted by all UN member states, provide a guiding framework for the achievement of these priorities.
Recognizing the integral role that the fashion and textile sector holds with respect to advancing the SDGs, Messe Frankfurt is taking steps to lead the industry to a more resilient and sustainable future. These efforts include requiring all exhibitors to commit to the SDGs by 2023 and the introduction of a Sustainability Award for outstanding, innovative and sustainable design. In 2021, the first Frankfurt Fashion SDG Summit launches, presented by the Conscious Fashion Campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships. This single-day Summit brought together leading industry stakeholders along with United Nations representatives and public officials to share their insights and motivate the fashion sector to take action towards future sustainability.

This documentary takes you into the heart of village India and a children's home in the back country of Tamil Nadu, India, where under-privileged children find love and purpose. The children whom many of them come from dire poverty, with no stable family environment, become the bridge for a new India. The founders of the Children home find themselves in a world of interweaving the hardships of running a children's home from the US, and creating a home where women begin to see a new future of education and giving back to their villages. How does destiny give one child this golden opportunity, and another, hunger out on the streets? Directed and Filmed by Julianne Reynolds, Produced by Corrine Champaigny.

Youth activists are taking to the streets outside the U.N. climate summit in Glasgow to demand world leaders do more to avert a climate catastrophe. The protest is being organized by Fridays for Future, an international movement of students which grew out of Greta Thunberg’s climate strike outside the Swedish parliament in 2018. We hear from Elizabeth Wathuti of Kenya. “Over 2 million of my fellow Kenyans are facing climate-related starvation,” Wathuti said earlier this week. “The decisions you make here will determine whether the children will have food and water.”
