North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un has reportedly executed 20 to 30 government officials following devastating floods that struck the northern region in late July, according to a TV Chosun report. The floods are believed to have killed thousands, especially in Jagang province. South Korea’s intelligence agency is closely monitoring these developments. Kim blamed officials for neglecting their duties, leading to the casualties. The floods caused widespread destruction, damaging homes, roads, and farmland. Ukraine’s commander in chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that Ukrainian troops advanced about a mile in various areas of the Kursk region, in addition to the 386 square miles that Ukraine previously claimed to capture. The Associated Press reported some Russian troops being pulled from inside Ukraine and back across the border to stop the incursion.

Ukraine has also stepped up their air attacks against the Russian military targets inside Russia. Russia said that it shot down 117 Ukrainian drones overnight and four missiles. Ukraine struck four Russian air bases in the biggest Ukrainian drone attack that's been carried out against Russia since the full-scale invasion began.
