Animal activist Carrie The Parrot takes on gay reverse homophobe Charles Stadtlander. He said that drag queens and the transgender community were "radical" and "unrelated" and called anything we do in crossdressing "freak behavior" and "detrimental" to the gay community! Kiss my ass, Charlie. I ought to come to Atlanta and organize the rest of the LBT community against you and FOR Anne Fauver in teh current election for city council. Then lets see what you have to say.

I made thirty videos honoring Obama and dissing McCain and Palin and got honored for one of them in Texas. I am not unrelated, a freak, or detrimental. To stand up and speak my mind and make and edit my own music videos and say what millions want to hear said is NOT detrimental, except maybe to the hateful rhetoric of Log Cabin Republicans.

Call his campaign office and speak your mind!

NTD UK News Full Broadcast: 26 October 2021

Today’s Highlights:

1. Glasgow Prepares for UN Climate Summit
Next week, the UN climate summit will take place in Glasgow. More than 20,000 people, including 120 world leaders are expected to attend. There’s likely to be travel disruption in the city, with planned road closures and strikes from rail workers, as well as the city’s binmen, as they demand higher pay. In what’s seen as a move to manage expectations, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he’s very worried about the success of the summit.

2. Animal Activists Scale Government Building
Four activists from Animal Rebellion, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, climbed a government building in London early this morning. They say they plan to stay on the side of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs building until the prime minister agrees to urge world leaders at COP26 to end animal farming subsidies.

3. Facebook Whistleblower Gives Evidence to MPs
A whistleblower told MPs Facebook is making hate worse. Though it didn't invent hate, she said, the company fails to take down a majority of hate speech, which might lead some people to become radicalised. She said according to Facebook’s own research, Instagram is more dangerous for children than other forms of social media. And she worries it may not be possible to make the platform safe for children.

4. Online Retailer Looks Toward a Robot Future
Online supermarket Ocado wants its London warehouse to be fully automated. Its washing-machine sized robots have caught the eye of international retailers battling a shortage of workers and rising wage demands. And the company doesn't plan to stop there. Eventually it wants machines to replace humans in every stage of the order preparation process as they strive to make online more profitable than in-store.

5. French Families Worry as Energy Bills Soar
Families in France are doing all they can to cut their expenses, but the spiralling cost of electricity is squeezing some household budgets to the point of going broke.

6. ISIS Member Jailed for Death of Yazidi Girl
In what is believed to be the first in the world, a Munich court has sentenced a former member of the ISIS terrorist group for crimes committed against the Yazidi community. The court found a German woman who converted to Islam guilty of allowing a young Yazidi girl she and her husband kept as a slave to die of thirst.

And much more...

Youth activists are taking to the streets outside the U.N. climate summit in Glasgow to demand world leaders do more to avert a climate catastrophe. The protest is being organized by Fridays for Future, an international movement of students which grew out of Greta Thunberg’s climate strike outside the Swedish parliament in 2018. We hear from Elizabeth Wathuti of Kenya. “Over 2 million of my fellow Kenyans are facing climate-related starvation,” Wathuti said earlier this week. “The decisions you make here will determine whether the children will have food and water.”

Fathoms Below: What the New York Harbor Teaches us about Successful Activism
Host: Cortney Worrall (President and CEO) and Maggie Flanagan (Director of Education and Outreach), Waterfront Alliance
When: Thursday, March 18th from 1pm - 2pm ET

Join us for this case study from the Waterfront Alliance about how the work of activists, environmentalists, individuals, government, and business brought about positive change for the New York harbor. These tools of activism -- coupled with a passion to conserve, protect, and restore the places we love -- can be used to continue to protect the harbor and other great places around the country.

The New York City metropolitan region, one of the most densely developed parts of the United States, is home to a vibrant harbor – a harbor bustling with commerce, trade, recreation, ferries, wildlife, and clean water. This vibrant estuary is home to whales, seals, seahorses, eels, birds migrating to and from the Arctic, and many other animals that come to visit or stay.

This session will uncover many unknown and fun facts about New York harbor, and the water and life that surrounds it, while we explore the methods used to impact change - from supporting legal action, to simply clicking on that button to sign a petition, to writing a letter to the editor. You’ll leave inspired to lend your voice, in ways large and small, to the causes you care about most during challenging times.
