Donald Trump has signed a flurry of such orders on a range of issues from trade, to energy to climate and immigration on his first day as the US President. Many of them are controversial. Analysts say many of Trump's executive orders will have a negative impact on Africa. With the suspension of foreign aid programmes, the US is freezing the disbursement of all foreign development assistance for 90 days pending a review. Plans to establish an External Revenue Service can impact African exports. Then withdrawal from the World Health Organisation can leave Africa at a greater health risk.
