At least 51 people have died in the eastern Spanish region of Valencia region after flash floods left towns and roads under water.

Spain’s interior ministry said that it is aware of 51 deaths caused by the torrential rains, and that the death toll could rise significantly as rescue workers remain unable to access some of the devastated regions.

Carlos Mazón, Valencia’s regional president, said it remains “materially impossible” to confirm the number of dead after extremely intense rain fell on the region on Tuesday and into the night.

In this video I'm going to show you How To Secure WordPress Without WordPress Security Plugins.

I provide you with various code snippets that you can use in your .htaccess file in the root of your WordPress Installation.

Note: This is an Advanced WordPress Tutorial. That being said this can also be a helpful Beginners WordPress Tutorial to help you gain some Advanced WP Skills.

Make sure you take a full backup of your WordPress Website before making any changes. I also recommend that you get familiar with either your Control Panel from your Web Host and also consider using a good Text Editor like Atom and a good FTP Program like FileZilla.

In this video I actually use the File Editor built into the Yoast SEO Plugin in order to add the code to your .htaccess file.

You'll learn to setup the excellent Ithemes Security WordPress plugin. This plugin is probably the easiest security plugin ever - most of the setup is done automatically with only a few clicks!

This Ithemes Security tutorial will also walk you through a few of the additional options. As always, take a backup of your site before changing security settings on your WordPress site. Particularly if you are inexperienced, you might end up locking down certain features of your site accidently.

While this plugin doesn't have as many of the features you'll find in other plugins, the easy setup makes it a good options for non technical users. If your host already includes a good firewall, then ithemes could be all you need for WordPress security.

Of course the most important security features are backups and updates, so never forget those!
